More
In Free2choose young people discover their own human rights, such as freedom of expression, freedom of religion and the right to privacy. Why are these rights so important? Are there limits to human rights? And what happens when these fundamental rights come into conflict with each other?
Discussion
‘Should a police officer be allowed to wear a turban?’ ‘Should a religious leader be allowed to describe homosexuality as an illness?’ ‘Should neo-Nazis be allowed to hold a demonstration in front of a synagogue?’ These are some of the controversial questions that are dealt with in the Free2choose debate programme. The discussion is based around concrete dilemmas. With the use of film clips, young people are challenged to express their opinions and formulate good arguments.
Free2choose-create
Free2choose-create is an educational programme that works in parallel with Free2choose. In the Free2choose debate programme young people learn about their own fundamental rights, and discuss these rights with reference to film clips. In Free2choose-create, young people make their own films about dilemmas that arise within their own communities. The films are mainly short mini-documentaries, and serve as a point of departure for a debate on human rights.
Worldwide
