Gerhard Badrian betrayed and executed
When Gerhard Badrian’s hiding place in the Rubensstraat 26, opposite the SD HQ, is surrounded, he escapes and shoots a member of the SD, but is also shot dead himself.
Badrian is a German Jew who has lived and worked as an advertisement photographer in the Netherlands since 1939. In 1942 he becomes involved with the PCB group. He forges documents, takes part in attacks and rescues resistance members, very often dressed in an SD uniform and carrying forged German papers.
After Gerrit van der Veen’s arrest in May 1944 he takes over as head of the PCB group and starts looking for a new hiding place for himself and for his workshop. Unfortunately, he is lead into a trap with fatal consequences.

Acts of resistance include; helping people in hiding, stealing and forging ration coupons and identity papers, attacks on public records offices and distribution offices, sabotage, assassinating German military personnel and collaborators; printing and distributing illegal newspapers.
