Anne Frank - A bomber crashes into a school
On 22 March an American bomber crashes into primary school in the Westzaanstraat. There are no children in the school because they have the Wednesday afternoon off. Three people are killed and five are seriously injured.
On 23 March 1944 Anne Frank writes: ‘Yesterday a plane crashed nearby. The crew were able to parachute out in time. It crashed on top of a school, but luckily there were no children inside.’
