A Jewish student tries to assassinate Attorney General J. Feitsma
On 31 January, 300 men are taken to Camp Vught. This is a reprisal for the murder of a German soldier. On 2 February, 10 are executed.
A Jewish medicine student, Rudolf Bloemgarten is so infuriated by this that he breaks into the Attorney General Feitsma’s house with the intention of assassinating him. Feitsma is not at home, but his son is. Bloemgarten shoots him and flees leaving him severely wounded.
As a result of this attack fifty men are deported to Camp Vught. Bloemgarten is also involved in attack on the Registry Office. He is betrayed, arrested and executed in Overveen on 1 July 1943.
