The WA marches through Amsterdam
As provocation, the NSB, marches through a predominantly Jewish area. By doing this on 9 November (the date of the Munich Putsch and Kristallnacht) the NSB show their solidarity with the Nazis. On 9 November 1938 there was a huge pogrom against Jews in Germany (Kristallnacht) when synagogues and shops were destroyed and Jews badly mistreated, killed and arrested.
The Dam
Square in the middle of Amsterdam and the historical heart of the city. On 7 May 1945, shortly after the liberation, a bloodbath takes place here when German soldiers open fire on the crowd which is celebrating.
