Protests after an anti-Semitic brawl outside the Koco ice cream parlour in the Rijnstraat
At 10 o’clock on the evening of 24 May 1939 NSB members attack the Koco ice cream parlour in the Rijnstraat. They attack the mostly Jewish visitors.

The next day the SDAP organizes protests.
The police arrest several NSB members and several receive prison sentences of between 6 and 8 months. The ice cream parlour’s evening licence is revoked.
