Sam Olij up before the Special Court
Boxer Sam Olij has been a member of the Amsterdam Police Force since 1928. In the 1930’s he becomes a member of the NSB. Convinced by national socialism he joins the Zentralstelle für Jüdische Auswanderung (Central Office for Jewish Emigration) in 1940.
Retribution
Shortly after the capitulation resistance workers start to arrest collaborators and Germans, if they can find them. Several are put on trial in Amsterdam and some receive the death sentence. Large numbers are imprisoned in Amsterdam or other cities. Children of NSB members are placed in children’s homes.
